Throughout the site there are footpaths through natural and indigenous brachystegia [Miombo] trees which accommodate the wide variety of bird, monkeys and small antelope species that reside in this area.
Picnic sites are set out along the river and the Lodge has access into the adjacent Lilongwe Wildlife Centre as an added attraction. The Wildlife Centre is a Born Free UK and Land and Lake Safaris supported, rescue and rehabilitation facility for Malawi’s orphaned animals.
Animals like monkeys, baboons, duikers, leopard, hyena, crocodile and a python can be seen on a guided tour of the facility.
